Role purposeTo be the UK advocate for Alpha’s use with young people and youth groups. To develop and maintain strong relationships with key youth ministries, and to support them in their use of Alpha.
Key Responsibilities· Drive, monitor and implement a UK strategy for engagement and growth for Alpha within a youth context, identifying areas of potential opportunity.
· Work closely with European Youth Co-ordinators to ensure synergy and shared learning across the youth context through monthly meetings and annual gatherings.
- Support role out of latest resources and training across UK and EU
· Network with key Alpha churches and youth groups, charities and individuals to ensure the continual growth and development of opportunities for Alpha in a youth context.
· Work proactively to connect with existing and prospective Alpha leaders along with equipping peer evangelism through Alpha:
- Manage, build and strengthen relationships with key individuals, youth and student organisations, youth leaders, churches and events.
- Engage directly with youth and emerging leaders through events, communications and strategic networking.
- Attend relevant gatherings, events and meetings to promote Alpha
· Equip and train a national network of youth leaders to ensure they see Alpha as a continual resource, though online space, training videos and facilitating local ‘Alpha Labs’.
· Act as the point of contact for those using Alpha within a youth context in the UK, solving all youth enquiries and managing the global Alpha Youth inbox.
· Manage the Alpha UK youth specific webpage
· Identify areas of potential innovation for Alpha in a youth context


Role dimensions:
Budget management Events spend.
People management Informally with volunteers at events.
Key relationships – internal Alpha UK and Euroep, Global Youth & Student Coordinators, HTB Alpha and Alpha International.
Key relationships – external Youth work organisations, Christian media and key individuals.
DescriptionEssential and desirable skills, knowledge and experience
· Reflective practitioner – experience in youth ministry
• Good people skills – excellent communication skills and telephone manner
• Forward thinker – ability to organise and set priorities
• Dynamic and energetic – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Structured working style – ability to balance attention to detail and the bigger picture
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to train, counsel and advise people on a one to one level, as well as to lead meetings
and enthuse those involved with Alpha in their region
• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for Alpha, particularly within a youth context
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
